EPD - Environmental Product Declaration
The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) presents the environmental characteristics and ecological impact of a duroplastic toilet seat in a transparent and comprehensible way. It is based on a life cycle assessment (LCA) and is prepared in accordance with the international standards ISO 14025 and EN 15804 in order to provide comparable and reliable key figures.

We at MKW® are proud of our production site in Austria, we also proudly bear the “Made in EU” seal of origin, awarded by I-MIE GmbH. This proves that our products have been tested by I-MIE GmbH and meet their high quality requirements.
Climate protection initiative klimaaktiv
In 2022, MKW® was recognized by the klimaaktiv initiative for its commitment to climate protection. The award-winning measures include refrigeration through freecooling and heat recovery through the integration of heat from the air compressors.
Solar.Champions
In 2021, MKW® received the “Solar.Champion” award for the 200-kilowatt photovoltaic system on the roof of the new company headquarters in Weibern. With this award, the state of Upper Austria, in cooperation with the Upper Austrian Energy Saving Association, OÖN and Tips, honors creative and concrete implementations of solar projects and solutions.
With the clear goal of increasing the proportion of solar power tenfold by 2030, the Solar Champion competition was looking for solar projects that would make Upper Austria a model energy region. A total of 300 projects were submitted and seven winners were recognized in 5 categories. Among them was MKW®!
Apprentice award ineo
MKW Kunststofftechnik GmbH & MKW Oberflächen+Draht GmbH were awarded the ineo, the label of quality as an exemplary training company, for the first time. This award is not only a recognition of the current high quality of apprentice training, but also reflects the excellent work done in the past. The roots go back to 1972, when the first apprentice was successfully trained at MKW. Since then, apprenticeship training has developed continuously.
